Kaitlyn Thornton, Owl’s Nest On-site Director
Kaitlyn Thornton was born in Oklahoma City, on Tinker Air Force Base. Then, she moved to Arizona for 7 years before moving to her favorite home, Colorado! Kaitlyn loves to play tennis and softball when it is warm outside, and traveling is one of her passions. She has traveled to many places internationally such as: Thailand, Panama, Belize, Nicaragua, China and more! Let’s just say she loves the beach. Kaitlyn is a youth softball coach and camp counselor during the summer for Camp Erie. During the school year, Kaitlyn is a substitute teacher, as well as The Owl’s Nest director for ARPS. Kaitlyn is currently going to Metropolitan State University to pursue her dream to become a memorable teacher and change student’s lives not only at ARPS, but everywhere.
Miranda Casillas was born in Texas and lived in California for half my life, then moved to Colorado. She graduated from Erie High School and is currently going for her Associates degree. She has worked with kids since she was 15 years old. She loves children and being able to bond with not only the kids, but the families too. Miranda loves spending time with her family and friends doing adventurous and memorable things. She is truly blessed to have such great people in her life and share these memories with.
Mychaela Hanson was born in Colorado, but she spends most of her summers in California with all her family. Surfing and spending time with friends and family are her favorite pass times. She has worked with children since she was 15 years old. She loves having bonds with all the kids and families too.
Alyson Romey has lived in Erie her whole life. She grew up on a farm a little outside of town with all of her family. After graduating high school, Aly went to Northeast Community College and played softball for two years before coming back home. She currently attends Pima Medical Institute for Radiography. She has been working with kids since she was 15 years old. Aly’s favorite thing to do is go on adventures in the mountains, especially exploring Colorado’s beauty on hikes.
Sam Foster grew up in Frederick, Colorado. She attended Erie high school and graduated in 2015. Sam played softball at North Platte Community College and graduated in 2017 with an Associate of Science degree. Currently, Sam attends MSU Denver where she is working for her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. Sam’s goal is to be a kindergarten teacher. In her free time, Sam love traveling, camping and hiking.
