Todd Cordrey – Executive Director
Mr. Cordrey comes to Aspen Ridge Preparatory School with a background as a sixth grade charter school teacher, college faculty in the Principal Licensure Program at the University of Colorado, successful business entrepreneur in the education industry, and as a Superintendent of a public school district in Colorado. As a school district superintendent, he championed student learning at all grades and led his district to achieving annual yearly progress. He has a “no excuses” philosophy when it comes to student learning. He believes the best way to achieve academic success is to make learning enjoyable, accountable, engaging, and authentic each day and for every child. His success as a business owner has honed his skills with budget creation and management, scalable growth practices with an emphasis on financial and capital asset development, regulatory compliance, liability mitigation, and customer service. Mr. Cordrey’s management style consists of clear, transparent, and consistent communication with parents, teachers, and community as demonstrated by his open door policy.
He is married to his lovely wife, Margo, and has three children, Alexi (college freshman), Zane (eight grader), and Lincoln (seventh grader). In his free time, he is a voracious consumer of audible books, has run six marathons and two half marathons, and enjoys family time.
Charla Salmeron – Principal
Ms. Salmeron, a recent Colorado implant, comes to Aspen Ridge with 20 years of eductional experience from Texas. She served as an elementary principal, receiving the Principal of the Year recognition in her district. She received her undergraduate degree from The University of Texas in Austin, in Elementary Education, and her graduate degree from The University of Texas in Arlington, in Leadership and Policy Studies.
Aside from serving as principal for the past five years, she has also served as an Assistant Principal, taught 1st, 2nd, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade, and served as an instructional technologist. Her leadership and educational experiences help to create a trusting, positive, hard-working climate, where students, teachers, and other administrators excel and grow under her care.
Ms. Salmeron is married and has three children, Kathryn, Elisabeth, and Ian. Her husband, John, has also served in education for the past 22 years as a teacher and administrator. They are currently enjoying the beautiful Colorado weather, taking advantage of the mountains and nearby towns, and trying their hand at skiing and snowboarding.
Ms. Salmeron thrives with what she loves most…growing those around her!
Noah Hurianek – Assistant Principal
Mr. Hurianek is a Colorado native and the 7th generation of educators within his family. He has been involved in education for the past 11 years and is eager serve as the Assistant Principal at Aspen Ridge.
He graduated from the University of Colorado – Boulder with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2004. After working in management (private sector) for a while, he completed his Special Education teaching licensure from Western State University. In 2011, through Western Governors University, he earned his Master’s of Education with an emphasis on Learning and Technology. Recently, he served his Principal internship at F.M. Day Elementary School while completing the Educational Leadership program through Lamar University. During his 11 years in education, he has worked with students K-12.
Mr. Hurianek is married to his high school sweetheart, Sarah, and they have two children, Lauren and Lucas. They enjoy camping, hiking and spending time outdoors.
